During a recent trip to Marare, Uganda, a team from Northgate Baptist Church witnessed the incredible devotion and diligence of Food for the Hungry (FH) staff in action.
Joyfully working to encourage and support families in the surrounding communities, these staff use their interpersonal skills to bring out the best in both the children and adults they work with. It is evident that they love their work.
Explaining the
dynamics of how field staff work with such passion and dedication is
not an easy task, but as Northgate can testify, visiting our FH field offices always helps. The team returned from Uganda with piles of photos and stories, helping them paint a picture of life in their partner community for those who haven't yet been.
They mention meeting Steven, a staff member who enthusiastically interacts with our sponsor children, creating games and activities to engage even the shyest kids with their international sponsors. They tell of the FH cook, Sam, whose singing was a key ingredient in each meal they ate on the trip. Office staff like Miriam, left their mark on the team as well, taking the group shopping and even bargaining on their behalf to avoid getting completely ripped off.

"These servants of God are the connection between Marare and Northgate and serve as witnesses and models for the community."
Partnering with a community overseas requires translation, communication and the hard work of diligent staff. At FH we are blessed by our overseas team who constantly sacrifice to make our partner experience as rich as possible!
